Bio
Mike Corsaut enters his first year as Recruiting Coordinator for the MJC Pirates. Prior to taking this position Mike was a high school and travel ball coach. Mike has been a softball coach for 28 years and has a vast amount of knowledge and experience. Mike started coaching his first-year teaching at Riverbank High School 96/97 school year. He took a program from winning only 11 games the first three years at Riverbank to winning 36 games his last two years in Riverbank and led the Bruins to a 2nd place finish and playoff berth in 2001. Mike was named TVL Coach of the Year and also the Modesto Bee Softball Coach of the Year in 2001. From 2001 to 2006 Mike took over as the Head Coach at Ceres High School, there Mike led the Bulldogs to four league titles, two in the CCC and two in the MMC. Mike was also named CCC Coach of the Year in 2003 and MMC Coach of the year in 2005. Ceres went to the SJS CIF playoffs all five years during that time. Mike turned the reins over to Donnie Donaldson in 2006 as Mike became a school administrator. Mike came back to coach at Ceres High after a 5-year hiatus. 2011/12 school year Mike came back as a JV coach at Ceres High for two years and was an assistant at Ceres with Coach Donaldson for one year. In 2018/19 Mike came back on as the head varsity coach at Ceres High and retired from coaching high school softball in 2024. During the six years Mike was back at Ceres High, Ceres won four WAC titles and was the WAC Coach of the Year in 2018/ 19 and 2023/2024. Ceres went to the playoffs every year except the Covid years during his time as coach at Ceres High School.
Mike also started a travel ball organization called Nor Cal Rage in 1999 and coached that organization until 2001. He did this because girls in Riverbank at the time only played baseball and wanted to start something for girls’ softball. Nor Cal Rage won the NSA Softball National Championship in the Summer of 2001. Mike also coached for the Ceres Sizzle Travel Ball Organization for 8 years.
Mike graduated from CSU Stanislaus in 1996 with a BA in Social Studies. Prior to CSU Stanislaus Mike went to Modesto Junior College and earned his AA degree. Mike also has a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Chapman University in 2008.
Mike currently lives in Waterford, California with wife Teresa Corsaut, married 31 years, son Joshua (20), Jaqueline (18), Benjamin (15) and Bella (4) all four have been adopted. Mike’s oldest two children Tessa (29), a former Ceres High, Waterford High school and MJC softball player and Luke (27) a former Ceres and Waterford High football player and track thrower. Both married.
Mike is a teacher in Ceres and is in charge of the Alternative to Suspension Program. In his 29 years of teaching Mike has taught World History, US History, Government and Economics as well as being a Learning Director/ Counselor in Ceres. Mike has coached football and softball helping several teams to the playoffs.
