
Kaytlin Donaldson to Join Staff
Southern Grad to be Pitching Coach
Kaytlin Donaldson will join the MJC coaching staff for 2021-2022 season. Kaytlin has a ton of experience and spent three years in the Great Athletic Conference for Division II Southwestern Oklahoma State University before entering the NCAA portal and transfering to Division I Southern University for her final super senior season. The Jaguars took 3rd place in the 2021 SWAC tournament. Kaytlin will work with pitchers as well as hitting. Head Coach and Father says "Kaytlin will bring a live aspect to the Pirates practices that we haven't had in the past as well as having her experience as a full time pitching coach, our pitchers will get better on a daily basis."
SENIOR SEASON AT SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY (2020-21): Appeared in 21 games for the Jaguars and helped lead them to a third place finish in the South Western Athletic Conference. Won 6 games on the season and lead the team with 48 strike outs and 93.2 innings pitched for Division 1 Southern Jaguars.
JUNIOR SEASON AT SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE (2018-19): Appeared in 51 games, making 47 starts... Batting .265 with 29 RBIs, 19 walks, scoring 18 runs and four homeruns... Made 33 appearances in the circle, totaling 102 innings of work with 41 strikeouts.
SOPHOMORE SEASON AT SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE (2017-2018): Made 18 appearances in the pitchers circle including five starts… totaled 36 innings of work with two complete games… She also made 30 plate appearances during the season recording six hits… Earned her second SWOSU letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON AT SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE (2016-2017): Appeared in 21 games for the Bulldogs, making 15 starts… Named GAC Player of the Week on Feb. 14 following the Midwestern State Round Robin in Wichita Falls... Tied for third on the team in batting average at .320… Ranked third on the team in slugging percentage at .460… Recorded one double, two homeruns, nine RBI and six runs scored… In the circle, compiled 12 appearances and two starts with a 6.90 ERA…Posted a 1-1 record in 24.1 innings of work… Earned first SWOSU letter.
HIGH SCHOOL: Four year letterman in softball, three times in volleyball, two times in basketball at Waterford High School… 2014 WAC Pitcher of the Year… Three-time First Team All-League… Awarded 2016 League MVP.
PERSONAL: Plans to teach high school or junior high school mathematics/physics or biology… Daughter of Donnie and Rebecca Donaldson.
