For the first time ever, Modesto JC Volleyball received state player of the week award.

Freshman Brionna Sims has received the CCCWVCA State Player of the Week award for Northern CA. Sims is a 5'9" Outside Hitter from Turlock, CA, where she attended Pitman High School.  

Sims slammed 37 kills in three victories last week as Modesto's go-to hitter. She hit .264 overall, adding 24 digs and four aces. She was at her best in a 4-set win over Solano as she landed 18 kills (.368). Sims recorded a double-double in MJC's win over Porterville with 15 kills and 11 digs.

This is Sims' first career player of the week honor.
