High School: While at Sierra High, Perla was the Most Valuable Field athlete, most improved player in basketball and a 2 sport athlete 2 times. Academically she was scholar athlete, awarded the seal of biliteracy, Lobo gold (4.0 gpa) and California good seal bearer. Her personal bests are 29'10 (Shot Put) and 110'5 (Discus).
