On a sunny and very warm morning in Palm Desert, with temperatures in the upper 90’s, the Pirates opened the 1st round of the Desert Invitational, hosted by College of the Desert, with a very solid round of team golf. Modest shot a team score of 328 at The Lakes Country Club, leaving them in 1st place out of the 9 teams at the tournament. The leading scorers for the Pirates were the Freshman Lucy Allbaugh and sophmore Zoe Bremer, who both posted solid rounds of 80.’ Ethel made 2 Birdies on the day, and Ava converted with 3 Birdies for her opening round. Freshman Jordan Williams fired an 83. making 6 Pars on her round. Round 2 saw the Pirates play another solid round of team golf on a beautiful Monday morning, with very little wind and temperatures in the mid 90’s. The Tigers played very consistently as a team, shooting a score of 333. Leading the way again for Modesto was Mikaella Manto, who posted a very fine round of 77 (+5) and kept us in 1st place and eventual repeat champions for the Tournament.
