Modesto, CA – Game 1: MJC 2 SC 9 The Pirates lost their fourth straight Big 8 Conference game as conference co-leader Sierra pounded the ball in both contests. The Pirates fell to 1-6 in conference play and 9-13 overall this season. MJC had 6 hits in the game including a double by Janelle Barrera (East Union HS) and Deborah Torres (Orestimba HS) both going 1-3 on the day. McKenna Daley (Ripon HS) had the solo RBI in the contest. Emily Cabral (Millennium HS) and Kalissa Martin (Manteca HS) both had singles for a 1-3 day.

Game 2: MJC 1 SC 10 (five innings) Sierra took the lead on a 4 run second inning and never looked back. The Pirates managed a solo run in the fourth inning Nicole Chapman (Ripon Chr. HS) singled in Janelle Barrera who doubled early in the inning. Barrera was 2-3 in the game. Torres was 2-2 and a double and Fontana, Baxter, Daley all had singles. Baxter and Cabral combined in the five-inning contest allowing 10 runs on 14 hits.

The Pirates are home Tuesday vs American River for a single contest at 3pm
