Game 1: MJC 10 - Hartnell College 6- Five Pirates had multiple hits in the first road game since February 3rd against Hartnell College. The 10-6 win gave the Pirates their 8th win in a row, extending the streak. Modesto scored in every inning except the 2nd and totaled 15 hits but added 3 errors. Janelle Barrera (East Union HS); Debbie Torres (Orestimba HS); Kara Pittel (Enochs HS) each went 2-5 and Larynne Holland (Hilmar HS) was 2-4 and Nicole Chapman (Ripon Christian HS) was 2-3. Torres added her second homerun of the year and the Pirates extended their state leading stolen bases with an additional 8 more in this game, including four from Kalissa Martin (Manteca HS). CJ Baxter (Enochs HS) started the game and was hit with a line drive that knocked the wind out of her and Bethanie Thornberry (Ceres HS) took over and got the win. Baxter later returned for her second save of the season. Hartnell tallied 6 runs on 8 hits. Baxter and Thornberry each had 3 walks and a strike out.

Game 2: MJC 8 - Hartnell College 9- The Pirates had the lead for the majority of the game but suffered a five-run 6th inning where the Cougars capitalized on walks and timely hits. MJC scored 3 in the top of the 7th and nearly tied the game but were stopped with a runner on second base. Barrera had a great game going 2-4, 2 Runs and a stolen base. Martin was 2-3 and an RBI and one BB. Pittel, Chapman, Emily Cabral (Millennium HS)and Hailey Hunter (Lathrop HS) added a hit a piece. The loss ended the Pirates 8 game winning streak and preseason games before hosting Folsom Lake College in the opening round of the Big 8 Conference. Pirates will begin conference play at 8-6 and the Falcons enter with a 6-5 record.

These are the first Big 8 conference games since COVID 19 ended the season in March of 2020. Game times are 12pm and 2pm at Pirates Softball Field.
