
Pirates Break into State Top 25

The MJC Pirate Volleyball program returns to the 3C2A Women's Volleyball Association State Top 25. Pirates have not been state ranked since 2021.
In the second ranking of the 2024 season, the Pirates earn State #24, NorCal #11.
Pirates finished the first two weeks of play going 4-1 with the only loss coming from state #13 Solano College.
Head Coach Brenda Moser said, "We are really proud of the progress our team has made so far this season. We have been working hard in practice and it is great to see that hard work paying off in our rankings. We still have a lot of work to do to continue to improve and reach our goals for the season, but this ranking is a good reflection of our growth as a team."
The Pirates have been led by standout performances from players like middle blocker Alize Martinez (Johansen HS) and outside Alicia Souza (Hilmar HS).
As they continue their season, the Pirates are focused on improving their consistency and execution in order to compete against some of the top teams in the state. With their recent success and determination, the Pirates are looking to make a statement in the 3C2A Women's Volleyball Association and contend for a playoff spot.
Fans of the MJC Pirate Volleyball program are encouraged to come out and support the team as they aim to climb even higher in the state rankings. With their talent and drive, the Pirates are sure to make waves in the volleyball community this season.
