MJC Wrestling Earns 3rd Place at 3C2A NorCal Regional Tournament
The Modesto Junior College Wrestling team earned a strong third-place finish at the 2024 3C2A NorCal Regional Tournament held in Santa Rosa, marking the third consecutive year the team has placed in the top three. Modesto was led by three athletes who each finished in second place in their respective weight classes: Demarcus Turner (149 lbs), Isaac Romero-Martinez (165 lbs), and Adrian Perez Pulido (184 lbs).
Additional notable performances from Modesto's wrestlers include:
- Abriel Padilla (Pitman) – 6th place (141 lbs)
- Demarcus Turner (Grace Davis) – 2nd place (149 lbs)
- Ayden Marshall (Manteca) – 6th place (157 lbs)
- Khalid Ghani (Pitman) – 3rd place (165 lbs)
- Isaac Romero-Martinez (Grace Davis) – 2nd place (165 lbs)
- Rosalio Leal (Buhach Colony) – 4th place (174 lbs)
- Adrian Perez Pulido (Livingston) – 2nd place (184 lbs)
- Erick Lopez Alecio (Atwater) – 8th place (197 lbs)
- Cody Ruiz (Los Banos) – 3rd place (285 lbs)
This strong showing adds to the program's recent success at the Northern California Regional Championships:
- 2022 – 2nd place
- 2023 – 3rd place
- 2024 – 3rd place
Modesto's consistent top finishes highlight the team's continued strength and competitive presence in the region. Modesto will compete in the 3C2A State Championships at Lemoore College on December 13th-14th. Good luck Pirates!
