Cody Ruiz and Other MJC Wrestlers Ranked in the First Edition of the 3C2A Men's Wrestling Rankings
The first edition of the 3C2A Men's Wrestling rankings has been released. Mt. San Antonio College earned the top spot as a team, and four individuals from their squad were voted No. 1 in their weight class. Despite a 6-2 record to start the season, Mt. SAC looks ready to dominate again. The Mounties showed their true potential with a 51-0 win over No. 7 ranked Rio Hondo in their first conference dual of the year.
Fresno City is ranked second with a 2-1 record after defeating conference opponents Skyline and Chabot by a combined score of 97-12. The Rams also placed first in the David Pacheco Invitational and the Modesto Invitational and took second at the Lemoore College Tournament.
The Sacramento City Panthers are ranked third after starting the year with a couple of fifth-place tournament finishes before claiming the top spot at the Santa Ana College Invite. Modesto follows right behind them, with a trio of top-three tournament finishes to begin the season, while Palomar takes the fifth spot with a 3-1 start. Rounding out the top 10 are Cerritos, Rio Hondo, Bakersfield, Victor Valley, and Lemoore.
Modesto has five wrestlers ranked in the top 8 in the state in their weight class, including Cody Ruiz, currently ranked #1.
