Modesto's Men Swim Team Excel at Merced Invitational
The Modesto JC Men's Swim Team emerged victorious at the 2025 Merced College Sprint Invitational, finishing first with an impressive score of 390.5 points. The team dominated multiple events, securing 4 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals across the competition. Modesto JC's performance was highlighted by stellar relay results, including their 200 Medley Relay team, which took the top spot with a time of 1:44.00. This victory solidified their standing as the strongest team in the event, narrowly edging out College of the Sequoias, who finished second with 355 points.
Modesto JC's individual swimmers also showcased their skill throughout the meet. Notable performances included Andrew Garza's strong second-place finish in the 50 Back with a time of 27.78, and Donovan Armstrong's victory in the 50 Free, where he posted a time of 22.72. Additionally, Cohen Harris and Henry Nitschke contributed significantly to the team's success with solid finishes in the 50 Breast and 100 IM events. Their combined effort was crucial in propelling Modesto JC to the top of the leaderboard, leaving competitors like Clovis and College of the Sequoias trailing behind.
