Bill Schemmel (1942-43)
Caught many of Chuck Hughes’ passes as halfback-receiver, scored nine TDs in five games of war-shortened ’42 season… Also a track star, went 32-5 in “broad jump” at Modesto High… All-State in track at MJC… A captain on San Jose football team… Died during Korean War.
