Chuck Hughes (1941-43 ’45-46)
Six-letter winner (football, basketball, baseball, track)… quarterback three seasons for Pirates, and three seasons for San Jose State. All-conference at both schools… All-MJC tournament… Successful prep coach for 35 years, 32 at Downey High… Member of Downey, NorCal Coaches and San Jose State football halls of fame.
