Modesto JC Volleyball announces their 2018 home schedule. There will be plenty of opportunities to see the Pirates in action as they have 15 home matches in the MJC Gymnasium. The Pirates will begin the season with their annual Alumni Scrimmage on August 18th at 6:30pm. This scrimmage is free for all spectators. 

The 2018 roster for the Pirates looks to be one of the strongest in program history. The pirates will return 7 players from 2017, including defensive record holders Denae Finney (OH) and Angel Nguyen (L). Several local incoming freshman will make an immediate impact on the Pirates' offense: Vanessa Quevedo (OH, Enochs HS), Rhiannon Genilla (OH, Manteca HS), and Ambria Schneringer (S, Central Catholic HS). 

"We have experience in our 2018 roster that we lacked in the 2017 season. We made mistakes in road matches that having returning players would have benefitted us. With 7 returners, their experience and leadership will make us a team to watch out for and will help our incoming freshman adapt to the college game. We are going to be very competitive in the Big 8 this year." Coach Brenda Moser 

The Pirate's season opener is against local rival, the Merced College Blue Devils, on 8/29/18, 6:00pm.
